Version 8.0.5 of Destiny 2 marks the beginning of this year's Solstice event while also carrying a lengthy list of bug fixes and gameplay adjustments, with the patch notes confirming a nerf to The Mountaintop grenade launcher's ability to accommodate grenade jumping. This one-of-a-kind weapon in Destiny 2 is the only grenade launcher that allows players to effectively rocket jump, and has recently enjoyed more widespread use among players thanks to the weapon's resurgence with the Into the Light update.

The Mountaintop is far from the only weapon to see changes with Destiny 2's latest update, though outright nerfs seem to be relatively few this time around. Update 8.0.5 sees a lot of adjustments to both PvE and PvP environments, with Crucible map weighting getting mixed up a little, the Dual Destiny exotic mission receiving a weekly challenge that grants players an additional exotic class item, and Zavala now offering the opportunity for players to attune to specific BRAVE weapons, which boosts the drop rate of attuned weapons by 60% in Onslaught.
