RuneScape has a long history of expanding its fantasy world with new quests, skills, enemies, and locations, giving players plenty of reasons to return to Gielinor. Jagex is continuing that approach with a new slate of content for all RuneScape games planned for the coming months, including updates that will introduce familiar creatures and more ways to customize player bases. While some of these additions are arriving before the end of 2026, the developer is already looking ahead to a much bigger chapter in 2027.
December will bring Luminance, a new update that serves as a prelude to next year's Blood Crystal Saga. The update will introduce elves, new elven-themed customization options for characters and buildings, and the Prayer skill. It's an early look at the content Jagex has planned for the next stage of its RuneScape universe, with the developer also outlining a broader schedule of updates that will continue throughout 2027.
