Steam is absolutely packed with fun survival games, both for co-op groups and solo play. However, it’s somewhat rare to find a fishing game with survival elements. Fishing tends to result in relaxing games where players slowly fill out fishing logs with their biggest catches, or more likely, it serves as a simple mini-game in a larger experience. It’s for these reasons that Steam’s Dreadmoor stands out so much, as it’s entirely focused on solo fishing, yet looks anything but relaxing.

And, more specifically, Fallout 4’s standout Far Harbor expansion. That DLC may have stood out partially for its Synth-focused story and the tough choices regarding DiMA, but its foggy and borderline lovecraftian setting also helped it stand out from everything offered in the base game. Dreadmoor’s shanty towns and creepy nightfalls offer some major Far Harbor vibes, and when mixed with its ship and gear upgrades as well as some quick-time events, it’s poised to be one of the most unique fishing games ever released....
