Pokémon has officially revealed a slick new Gyarados redesign as part of the franchise’s 30th anniversary, and the Generation 1 Water- and Flying-type creature has never looked so cool. Over the course of 2026, there have been a lot of changes happening to the series. Mewtwo got a new design in Pokémon for the 30th anniversary celebrations, exclusively within a new product. Something similar happened with Pikachu, Growlithe, and many other fan-favorite creatures, many of which are starring in new products or releases. Now, it’s time for another fan-favorite Gen 1 creature to shine, but in an unexpected way.
As seen in a new post on the official Pokémon website, The Pokémon Company has just officially released two new products on the online Pokémon Center storefront. One of them features Magikarp, while the other one is centered around Gyarados. The detail here is that both Pokémon are featured in their respective Shiny forms, so Magikarp is glistening with golden scales, while Gyarados’ iconic red form comes to life amidst a blue ocean storm.
