As part of Pokémon’s 30th anniversary celebrations, the popular Gen 2 games, Gold and Silver, are making an official return in the form of a new commemorative collection. There’s been a lot going on for the franchise’s 30th anniversary. Apart from the highly sought-after 30th Celebration collection for Pokémon TCG, The Pokémon Company has been issuing several releases centered around the 30 years of history that the series carries. There are no major new core games coming out this year, as Pokémon Winds and Waves only arrive in 2027, but fans are gearing up with merch to celebrate the anniversary.
So far, The Pokémon Company and Game Freak have presented a ton of different items that fans can pick up, but now, a brand-new nostalgic collection celebrating the 30th anniversary is available. According to a report by CBR, a new set of T-shirts centered around Pokémon Gold and Silver have arrived, celebrating two of the most beloved games in the series. The T-shirts feature the mascots for each of the Gen 2 games, exactly as they appear in the cover art for the original games, released in 1999.
