Not all games are made equally. When it comes to horror games, they are a dime a dozen and sometimes a lot of them aren't worth your while. Cheap jump scares or non-existent narratives in favor of gore can feel frustrating when you just want a good scare. Well, luckily for Xbox Game Pass subscribers, this spooky season, you can get your hands on a deeply disturbing psychological horror game that doesn't waste your time. Winner of the 'Best Hidden Gem' award at the New York Game Awards 2025, the misadventures of Captain Curly and his crew are not to be missed.
According to the official Xbox news website, all lucky Xbox Game Pass subscribers should mark their calendars for October 29, 2026. On that date you'll be able to play Mouthwashing, the first person psychological horror adventure game by the rather talented team, Wrong Organ. You play as one of a few survivors aboard a freight spaceship adrift in the vast blackness of space after an explosion. Tensions mount as you and the small crew on board slowly begin to realize that help is not on its way and that perhaps your mind is playing tricks on you....
