Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 issues a new official statement addressing the state of cheating in the game.

Activision officially made a statement in response to backlash regarding the inclusion of Itaewon Disaster footage in Modern Warfare 4. A spokesperson for the company issued a public apology for the use of the traumatic footage and said that it did not "intend to reference or trivialize the Itaewon Disaster" with its inclusion. Activision expressed its sympathy to the affected families and that the footage's original intent was to provide a "realistic and immersive experience," not to reference a real-world tragedy. Activision is expected to remove the Itaewon Disaster footage from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 in an update on November 12.
