Marking the first entries in Pokémon's 10th generation, Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves are set to launch some time in 2027. However, with Nintendo keeping that release date close to its chest, a recent leak suggests that we could be waiting quite a long time before we head to a brand-new tropical archipelago region.
Announced back in February 2026, Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves will head to the Nintendo Switch 2 in the new year, and whilst we have not yet received an official release date, we do know some of what to expect from a brand-new Pokémon generation.
Inspired by Southeast Asia, the new map will depict a tropical archipelago region, full to the brim with accessible underwater areas, so it is no doubt that there will be plenty of aquatic Pokémon to add to your team. Additionally, we also know the Starter 'mons who will be joining us on our adventure: the Grass-type Browt, the Fire-type Pombon, and the Water-type Gecqua. However, if one leak is to be believed, a suspected 300 brand-new Pokémon are expected to be added to the Pokédex. Hopefully, we will get to see some evolutions in there too....
