The first DLC for Ubisoft’s Assassin's Creed Origins, named The Hidden Ones, was leaked to some a full week before its planned release. This expansion to the highly rated game was accidentally purchasable within the in-game store to some players on the Xbox One via a patch that was sent out earlier this week.
The DLC is the first of two major story-focused updates to the game set four-years after the game’s main story which also adds a new region, Sinai, whilst also raising the level-cap to 45 and adding a whole slew of new content as well.
Initially this was not officially commented upon by the company, however a community manager posted on the Ubisoft forum about the mishap and stated that the error has been removed, but that those who have access to the DLC will not have that privilege revoked or have their save files compromised by this error. The company then did acknowledge the mistake to various outlets, reiterating what the forum post already said and adding that players with access to the DLC will now be called “The Lucky Ones."
The official release of the DLC is still planned for the 23rd of January, 2018.
