Dead Island 2 may have felt like a flash in the pan for many but Dambuster Studios has continued to expand upon the game over the last year, promising a major new update in October. While it may have debuted to mixed reviews, Dead Island 2 certainly found its audience as the visceral combat and progression hooked those who've been longing to return to the franchise since the original game. Fortunately for those fans who enjoy crushing undead skulls, they'll soon be able to do it all again with some extra perks.
Posting to the official Dead Island 2 blog, Dambusters confirmed that the forthcoming update in October will add the much-demanded New Game Plus mode. As can be expected from such a feature, players who dive into New Game Plus can play through the campaign again with all their already unlocked abilities and weapons but there's more to it than that. The developer elaborated that the mode will grant players a higher level cap, and an extra skill slot while also adding new skins, weapons, and foes alongside a major difficulty increase.
