Earlier this week, the game's big "1896" relaunch took place, bringing with it a heap of new and returning players excited to see what's changed and what all the hype is about. Those excited players have contributed towards Hunt: Showdown 1896 reaching a new Steam player count record, but that same popularity is now proving a problem.
Shortly after Hunt: Showdown's transformation into Hunt: Showdown 1896, negative reviews of the game began piling in. It didn't take long for the review bombing to kick into high gear, as the game has now amassed over 4,500 negative reviews in just a couple of days, tanking the Steam user rating to Mostly Negative.
