Dragon Age: The Veilguard's Trailer Might Have Just Referenced Sandal

There's a lot to take in with the latest trailer for Dragon Age: The Veilguard. The most obvious reveal is that Morrigan is back, although some fans suspect that there's more to this than BioWare is letting on. It's also been revealed that Solas' ritual has gone horrifically wrong, allowing ancient gods to rampage Thedas.

However, tucked away in the halfway point of the trailer, BioWare might have just revealed a huge piece of lore for the dwarves - and one that's been teased since the first game. At the 1:30 mark, we see Lace Harding use some kind of magical powers to petrify darkspawn before they can attack Rook, despite the fact that dwarves aren't supposed to be able to use magic.

Dwarves having magical abilities would be a huge change, and likely has something to do with Solas tearing down the Veil, since that acts as a barrier to the Fade. Fewer protections against the Fade almost definitely mean more magical shenanigans, so it's not surprising to see someone who's supposed to not have any magic suddenly gain abilities. Whether that actually makes dwarves mages as we know them though is unclear.
