With the current hype surrounding Deadpool, it stands to reason that Microsoft may be looking into relicensing the Merc with the Mouth's official video game for Xbox. Released in 2013 before Wade Wilson was a household name, Deadpool quickly became a cult classic for its whacky take on the X-Men universe portrayed through the eyes of its zany protagonist. Due to a lapsed license, the game is currently available for modern systems but if rumors are to be believed, that could be about to change.
Per The XboxEra Podcast on YouTube, according to leaker Shpeshal Nick, who has a decent track record of sharing correct information, Microsoft is in talks with Marvel to regain the license to the Xbox One port of Deadpool to once again make the game available on both new and old hardware.
Additionally, the company is reportedly also looking into a similar deal with the beloved action RPG series Marvel Ultimate Alliance. While it remains to be seen if Shpeshal Nick is correct, now that Microsoft owns Activision, who published both Deadpool and Ultimate Alliance, it's not impossible to imagine.
