When it comes to visceral sci-fi horror, 2022's underrated gem The Callisto Protocol delivers the scares so those who haven't yet checked it out better keep an eye on the Epic Games Store this week. Developed by Striking Distance Studios, a development team that consists of several people responsible for the original Dead Space, The Callisto Protocol may not have been imaginative in its design but it delivered on the atmosphere. Starring the likes of Josh Duhamel and Karen Fukuhara, there's plenty of fun to found in its grimy world.
Per The Epic Games Store, the company confirmed that those who log into the app on August 22 will be able to pick up a copy of The Callisto Protocol for free. The deal won't last forever though so those who do want to embrace the terrors of a sci-fi prison filled with vicious inmates and deadly monsters need to grab it before Aug 29. Anyone who might not be interested in bashing enemy's heads in with a retractable stun baton can instead pick up the quietly popular Gigantic: Rampage Edition, a colorful hero-shooter/MOBA hybrid.
