Xbox Game Pass quietly confirmed another major franchise will release its next installment as a Day-One launch on the subscription service. After a tumultuous 2024, Microsoft is in the process of winning back fans after angering a large portion of its followers by announcing a massive price hike for Xbox Game Pass in July, a move many suspect was done to prepare for an influx of players looking to access Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. While that may be the case, those who retain their subscription will soon be able to play another fantastic shooter.
On Xbox's YouTube, the company confirmed that Rebellion's Sniper Elite: Resistance will launch in 2025 as a Day-One drop on Xbox Game Pass.
While it may not be as popular as Call of Duty, the Sniper Elite series has garnered an admirable following thanks to its tight stealth mechanics, gratifying gunplay, and explosive kills that make ample use of a gory X-ray camera. Aside from Xbox Game Pass, Resistance will also be available on PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store, as well as PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
