It's no secret that Todd Howard has held an ambition to make a modern Indiana Jones game for a very long time. Earlier this year, Howard revealed he's been trying to get an Indie game greenlit for over a decade, and he finally got his wish with MachineGames' Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.
It would appear that Howard is certainly the driving force behind the upcoming game, as his ambition was once again mentioned during Xbox's Gamescom livestream. In an interview with MachineGames' creative director Axel Torvenius and design director Jens Andersson, Torvenius outlined how The Great Circle came to be.
"It all starts with Todd Howard," Torvenius began. "He held this long-term vision and dream to do a new, interesting Indiana Jones game. He had the opportunity to pitch his core idea from a narrative point-of-view to LucasFilm Games. They were also very excited about it, and then Todd took the product to MachineGames, saying 'I think you're a good fit to do this'. Imagine the screams of joy within MachineGames as we were given the opportunity to work on it. We are super thrilled."
