While there's still nothing known about the successor to the Nintendo Switch, the latest reporting regarding the device should come as a relief for anyone concerned about history repeating itself. One of the factors that's made the Switch such a dominant console in the marketplace is its third-party support: Not only has Nintendo provided plenty of excellent first-party exclusives, but it's also actively worked with other developers to get more games onto the system. From the sound of things, that's a strategy that won't change any time soon.
Per IGN, Amazon Games CEO Christoph Hartmann confirms that the publisher will develop games for the so-called Nintendo Switch 2 whenever it eventually sees the light of day. While that may seem obvious, it's worth noting that Amazon Games has never worked with Nintendo before so creating something for the next console will be a major move. Based on Hartmann's comments, it seems that Nintendo is actively pursuing third-party developers much like it did with the first Switch, meaning that the predecessor should hopefully not be wanting when it comes to software.
The Switch 2 should bring some exciting games to the table, and leaks and rumors already...
