The GOG Back to School Sale is on now, bringing huge deals on nearly 6,000 titles. Besides the games on sale, the digital game store is hosting a giveaway for an excellent city-building title, an often overlooked entry in the long-running Tropico series. Everyone with a GOG account can get a hold of this title for free, until the giveaway ends.

Players can get Tropico 4 for free on GOG, but the game will only be free until 9 am EST on Thursday, August 29. The classic city sim was published in 2011, but still holds up today and would be an excellent addition to any fan of the genre. In fact, the official GOG X (formerly Twitter) account calls it a great way to "start slacking off properly during this semester."

GOG specializes in selling DRM-free games, and its giveaways come with no strings attached. Once the "Add to library" button is clicked and Tropico 4 is downloaded, players have it available to play forever. Tropico itself has been releasing games for more than 20 years, yet doesn't seem to attract the same attention as some larger city-building sims.
