CD Projekt Red, the developer behind The Witcher games and Cyberpunk 2077, has given a status update on the forthcoming sequels belonging to these two IPs. While the successor to The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is being developed under the codename Polaris, the sequel to CDPR's Cyberpunk game is in development under the codename Orion.
Over the past decade, CDPR has emerged as one of the biggest names in the role-playing game category, thanks to certain highly popular releases. Through 2015's Game of the Year The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, the Polish studio established itself in the industry as a force to be reckoned with. On the other hand, Cyberpunk 2077, from the underwhelming launch in 2020 to the redemption arc led by the Phantom Liberty DLC in 2023, exemplified CDPR's versatility in the genre. Now, the developer has shared its progress on the next projects in the pipeline.
