Xbox Game Pass is losing NBA 2K24 and two more games later today, August 31. Following these departures, the number of titles that have been removed from Xbox Game Pass in August 2024 will rise to seven.
Microsoft's subscription service generally removes games from its library every two weeks. The most recent of these catalog rotations happened on August 15, when Xbox Game Pass lost four titles: Shadow Warrior 3, Airborne Kingdom, Offworld Trading Company, and The Texas Chain Saw Massacre.
A reliable Microsoft leaker claims that Xbox Game Pass will soon add a 2021 Ubisoft title with fairly strong reviews to its ever-expanding catalog.
Three more are now set to follow later today, as the service is about to lose Atomic Heart, Guilty Gear Strive, and NBA 2K24. The latest installment in the NBA 2K series had the briefest Xbox Game Pass stint of the newly departing trio, as it was only added to Microsoft's content library back in March 2024. That's also when 2K announced that NBA 2K24 will leave Xbox Game Pass at the end of August, so this move has been a long time coming.
