Outer Wilds publisher Annapurna Interactive has acknowledged that the PS5 physical version of the game's Archaeologist Edition has missing content. Normally, this particular edition of Outer Wilds should come with the base game as well as the Echoes of the Eye DLC.

Released back in 2019, Outer Wilds is an action-adventure game in which the player steps into the shoes of an explorer mapping their way through the mysteries of a doomed planetary system. The Echoes of The Eye DLC, which launched in 2021, prolongs Outer Wilds's space journey with brand-new locations to navigate. Outer Wilds: The Archaeologist Edition, whose physical version for PS5 and Switch launched on August 30, offers this combined experience in a single package. Unfortunately for PS5 users, the physical copy still has incomplete content due to an unexpected issue.

Although hidden secrets in open-world games are common, these secrets in Outer Wilds haven't been found by "many" players since the game's debut.
