Dragon Age: The Veilguard devs break down how transmog will work, explaining that the DLC armour is purely cosmetic.
This comes from a Q&A with fans, in which The Veilguard director Corinne Busche explains exactly how transmog will be handled. Here, Busche says that it will work much the same as it does in other games, with players able to swap the appearance and stats of armour. However, she adds that there are some "transmog only" armours that we'll find in-game, which are just cosmetic.
"You'll find some appearance-only cosmetics that are specifically used just for transmog," says Busche. "These are some of the fancier or more niche pieces of gear. Maybe you end up looking like a training dummy, for instance."
She adds that the Blood Dragon armour is an example of this. "They're effectively evergreen. You can use them anytime you like without compromising your stats."
Busche continues, explaining where we can find these cosmetics. "So you'll get these appearance datas from opening treasure chests, exploring the world, and more frequently, from vendors," she says. "If you're in it for fashion, check out those vendor inventories, because they got you.
