Konami has officially announced the September 2024 update to the Yu-Gi-Oh TCG's Forbidden and Limited List, with nearly 30 cards impacted by the new changes. The massively popular trading card game from Konami regularly sees updates to the game's Forbidden and Limited List, with Konami looking to keep the game fresh and address some of its most problematic cards. The last update to the game's banlist saw 16 different cards affected, with powerful staples like "Baronne de Fleur" and "Linkuriboh" banned. Now, the new update is taking aim at nearly double that total.

Yu-Gi-Oh's current "Advanced" format is one that has seen fans begging for major changes to the game for months on end. The format has largely been dominated by the "Snake-Eye" strategy, which has carved out its status as the unquestionable best deck since the release of Phantom Nightmare in February. The addition of the "Fiendsmith" theme has also seen several decks rise to top-tier status, with the archetype serving as a generic engine that can be splashed into a variety of decks. Konami is now taking aim at Fiendsmith, Snake-Eye, and more with its newest banlist update.
