Pokemon TCG Trademark Hints At Potential Pokemon Black/White Remakes

Yesterday, we learned that a trio of Game Freak, Nintendo, and Creatures trademarked the names "White Flare," "Black Bolt," and "Hot Air Arena."

This news started a massive rumor mill within the community, indicating that a Pokémon Black and White remake is on the horizon.

This news isn't anything new; we've been receiving rumors about the potential remake for quite a while now.

Gamers have been known to concoct over-the-top theories with each new entry to the Pokémon franchise. Sometimes, just adding a new pokémon or character would be enough to start Internet-wide speculations.

Truth be told, even DualShocker's team was responsible for boosting the hype on several occasions. I guess we want it a little too much.

Is Black/White Really On The Horizon?

All of this might sound like a coincidence for those disengaged from the Pokemon TCG scene.

However, if you check the previous Pokémon release trends, you'll notice that Nintendo has a habit of licensing certain characters, moves, and pokémon six to eight months before each release.

For example, this happened with the Battle Partners set, which was trademarked in July and is set to release on January 24th, 2025.
