Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP Producer Reveals All Changes Made to Original Mode

Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP will include two different gameplay modes, and producer Yoshimi Yasuda recently broke down what changes the Original mode will include ahead of the game’s release later this month. The original Lollipop Chainsaw launched in 2012 and put players in the role of Juliet Starling, a cheerleader/zombie hunter tasked with battling the undead in a zany adventure penned by future Marvel and DC filmmaker James Gunn and developed by Goichi “Suda51” Suda’s Grasshopper Manufacture. In 2022, publisher Dragami Games announced that a remaster of the original game was in the works, titled Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP and eventually slated for release on September 12.

Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP will feature the same offbeat storyline and zombie-killing action that made the original a cult classic, with a few new tweaks and altered gameplay features to draw in both classic fans and newcomers alike. One of the most talked-about of these features is Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP’s alternate RePOP mode, which adds comic book-inspired pop-up effects and reportedly tones down the old Lollipop Chainsaw’s grizzly violence.
