To date, Hogwarts Legacy still attracts tens of thousands of players every month, which attests to the potential that lies with a game of its kind.
This not only justifies developing a sequel for the original game, but also delving deeper into the universe and period it's set in. While not considered canon, Hogwarts Legacy is still selling very well over a year after its release. In 2023, the game managed to position itself as the best-selling title of the year in the US market, beating formidable contenders such as Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, and Baldur's Gate 3, which won Game of the Year, no less.
