Street Fighter 6 has sold four million units globally. As the latest entry in Capcom's juggernaut franchise, Street Fighter 6 released to multiple platforms in June 2023. Since then, it has been said that the franchise has sold more than 50 million units overall, dating back to the first Street Fighter in 1987. With seven mainline games, and over 20 variations and versions of previous titles, many fans claim that the series' success continues to grow indefinitely.
The current game demonstrates the massive leap the series has taken from the very first title in terms of both graphics and gameplay. Many players appreciate the familiar characters, but they also enjoy the modern take coupled with the upgraded mechanics. And while the game builds on the formula that the first entry in the series established, it also explores new concepts like Street Fighter 6's Drive System. This is why many die-hard fans claim that Street Fighter, as a whole, continues to flourish. While gamers may think that way, Street FIghter 6's recent achievement may prove that point.
