Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero has some surprisingly modern dialogue, as a new intro clip has revealed that Kid Trunks says "no cap" when fighting against Vegeta.
Although Dragon Ball does take place in a semi-futuristic world where houses and flying cars can be summoned through capsules, it doesn't always feel like a "modern" series. Ignoring filler episodes, the focus is almost always on martial arts, power-ups, and epic battles, which doesn't leave much room for things like smartphones, the internet, or memes. Thank god.
It's only been two months since I last played Sparking Zero, but it's already seen some big changes.
That being said, there are times when Dragon Ball likes to remind fans that it does pay attention to what's going on in our world. Dragon Ball Super was notably more up to date and featured more technology than the original series and Dragon Ball Z, and that looks like something that's carrying over to Sparking Zero.
