Silent Hill is one of many horror games that have pretty iconic save points. Resident Evil has its typewriters, Alien: Isolation has its emergency phones, and Left 4 Dead has its bright red safe room doors, letting you know that a safe haven is right around the corner. Silent Hill 2 is no exception, littering the titular town with bright red squares that players can use to save their games.

Previews for the remake are better than anyone could ever have expected.

Just like other save points, they're a sight for sore eyes, and their bright glow pierces the town's thick fog to make sure players notice them. Once you interact with them, you're greeted with a red screen that's almost too bright, which features nothing but protagonist James Sunderland's head staring back at you. Silent Hill 2's upcoming remake has kept these unique save points relatively intact.
