Dr Disrespect Suggests Twitch User Was 'Over the Legal Age of Consent' at Time of Messages

Dr Disrespect's YouTube return stream has seen the controversial streamer address the "messaging a minor" controversy by him suggesting that the Twitch user in question was "over the legal age of consent" at the time of the messages. Dr Disrespect was permanently banned by Twitch in 2020, with no reason given by either party at the time.

Four years later, an ex-Twitch employee accused Disrespect of exchanging messages with a minor through the Twitch Whispers feature. Disrespect addressed the allegations in a since-deleted statement on Twitter where he admitted to messaging a minor and that the conversation "sometimes leaned too much in the direction of being inappropriate." The situation led to YouTube demonetizing Disrespect's channel, longtime collaborators like TimTheTatman and Nickmercs distancing themselves, sponsors pulling their support, and the streamer leaving Midnight Society, the game studio he founded.

Dr Disrespect makes yet another change to one of his social media accounts shortly after claiming that he will be 'back soon.'
