Star Wars Outlaws may have surprised some players upon its launch when the open-world scoundrel fantasy turned out to be a lot more stealth-focused than they may have expected. Considering Kay Vess' past as a thief and the fact that the whole game seems to be building up to a major heist, the idea that she might have to spend a fair amount of time sneaking around places isn't exactly out of place, but some compulsory stealth sections have been the source of some controversy from some players.
The game's creative director, Julian Gerighty, recently spoke with Gamesradar+ about this, noting that these instant-fail stealth sections can be "incredibly punishing," citing one on Mirogana in the earlier section of the game, in particular. After looking at some of the recent player data, Gerighty noted that the difficulty may have been "a mistake" and stated that Massive Entertainment is looking to improve this.
He went on to give an idea of how this could be done, saying, "I don't think it means removing the fail state completely, but I do think there are millions of low-hanging fruits where we can make it so much more enjoyable and understandable."...
