PlayStation has had a pretty wild few weeks. After the failure of shutting down Concord, it managed to apologize to fans by releasing an absolute banger with Astro Bot. Using that momentum, PlayStation decided that this was the time to finally unveil the PS5 Pro, the fancy mid-gen refresh that promises more power and better looking games. Unfortunately, it made almost everybody mad by slapping a $700/£700 price tag on it.
PlayStation is apparently hoping to get people back on board though, as it's now being reported by reliable industry insider Jeff Grubb that the company is holding a State of Play showcase later this month. In the latest episode of his Game Mess Mornings podcast, at the 28-minute mark, Grubb claims that PlayStation is gearing up to put on a State of Play in about "twelveish days."
"I've said before that a State of Play is coming later this month," says Grubb. "It's probably coming in about, let's say twelveish days. In about twelveish days, they will have a State of Play, not a showcase..."
From the date that this podcast went live, twelveish days means that State of Play will take place around September...
