New AMD Driver is a Game Changer

AMD users with a Ryzen AI processor are in luck, as the tech giant released a new Radeon Software preview driver that includes support for AMD Fluid Motion Frames 2 (AFMF2) technology on AI-powered hardware. Although AMD Fluid Motion Frames entered the preview state in July, the latest update will allow more users to test it out before its full official release.

Often compared to Nvidia's Frame Generation technology, AMD Fluid Motion Frames uses AI to generate additional frames and reduce latency to give PC gamers an improved experience in different titles. Unlike AMD's FSR or Nvidia DLSS upscaling techniques, AMD Fluid Motion Frames can be turned on at the driver software level alongside AMD's Radeon Anti-Lag option. However, Fluid Motion Frames is exclusive to AMD Radeon preview drivers, which may not be stable as a full release. Fluid Motion Frames also require an AMD Radeon graphics card, such as the Radeon RX 7700 XT and the Radeon RX 6600, or an AMD processor with integrated Radeon graphics.

The new AMD Ryzen 5 7600X3D processor is now available for PC builders to purchase through specific retailers in the US and Germany.
