One of the most notorious Mobile games of 2014 is officially back in action as Flappy Bird rises from the dead with a massive new game that brings more content to the rage-inducing platformer. In the early days of 2014, it was almost impossible to get away from the sheer frustration of Flappy Bird as the challenging mobile game spread like wildfire thanks to going viral on social media. While titles like Assassin's Creed: Unity may have sparked controversy and Five Nights at Freddy's spawned a massive fan base, Flappy Bird was arguably the most impactful game of 2014.
Per X (formerly Twitter), The Flappy Bird Foundation Group, a team of diehard fans, has managed to successfully purchase the trademark from original creator Dong Nguyen, who delisted the game just months after its release in 2014.
The new version of Flappy Bird is slated to launch as a web browser game before the end of October while the mobile port is planned to arrive in 2025. The revamped game will feature the same tricky platforming as well as a handful of additional features to bring it more in line with recent mobile games.
