Black Myth: Wukong is out now on PC and PlayStation 5, having given Xbox Series X/S a miss at launch. It was reported that this port was delayed for optimisation purposes, and this isn't too surprising - it's a very visually stunning game and one that many fear will struggle on Xbox Series S.
Turns out, those fears are not unfounded. Digital Foundry has simulated how the game might run on the Series S, using a PC with the same specs as the console. Even with graphical downgrades, we can see that Black Myth: Wukong struggles to reach 30fps in areas, dipping as low as 18fps at some point.
Digital Foundry includes a section on a hypothetical Xbox port in its technical review of Black Myth: Wukong. While this isn't a perfect comparison - as they highlight, the PC they're using has more memory than an Xbox Series S - it does give us a fair idea of what compromises will have to be made, and there's a fair amount here.
