AMD has quietly launched the new Radeon RX 7800M GPU for mobile platforms and revealed its exact specifications. The new AMD Radeon RX 7800M GPU will start to appear in new gaming laptops this month and beyond, despite AMD not making an official announcement about its public availability just yet.
AMD's current GPU generation, the Radeon RX 7000 series, first launched on December 13, 2022, with the RX 7900 XT and the RX 7900 XTX. In 2023 and 2024, AMD released entry-level and mid-range Radeon RX 7000 series graphics cards, such as the RX 7600 XT and RX 7900 GRE, to bring the RDNA3 GPUs to gamers shopping at several different price ranges for their next PC build. Mobile Radeon GPUs, including the 7600M and 7900M, have been shipped in gaming laptops over the past year and a half as well. A mobile version of the RX 7800 XT was missing throughout 2023 and most of 2024, but it appears that AMD will complete its mobile RX 7000 lineup with this particular GPU after all.
