A new Deadlock update rolled out on Thursday, September 12. This release introduces some pretty substantial changes to Deadlock, including always-on matchmaking.
Valve's third-person MOBA entered invite-only testing in spring 2024. Deadlock's matchmaking has so far been region-dependent, with the game only offering it during predetermined intervals. Valve has now done away with this restriction as part of the latest Deadlock update, which became available for download on September 12. Among many other things, this release debuts 24/7 matchmaking across all servers. The way the system itself works has also been changed, as Valve opted to expand it with a low-priority queue. According to the changelog attached to the patch, the main way to enter this disreputable queue is to engage in undesirable behaviors, most notably abandoning matches.
