Byte Breakers has been revealed by Omega Strikers developer Odyssey Interactive, and it plays like a Super Smash Bros. battle royale. As Nintendo's Super Smash Bros. series is the pioneer of the platform fighting game genre, many games have tried to take its elements and put their own spin on it. Some Smash clones are more successful than others, especially since Smash still has a thriving and passionate community. One of the latest games to dip their toes in this genre will be Byte Breakers, developed by Odyssey Interactive.
Odyssey Interactive is best known for the free-to-play Steam hit Omega Strikers, a 3v3 arena game with colorful characters and gameplay reminiscent of Nintendo's Mario Strikers. Despite it carving out its own niche, the timing of Omega Strikers' launch was unfortunate. Omega Strikers launched right when fatigue for the live-service model was at its worst for gamers, with Odyssey's game being unable to stand out among bigger properties in the space. Updates for Omega Strikers eventually slowed down, with its final character being added in October 2023.
