According to a new rumor, Mortal Kombat 1 could be bringing back the controversial quick-time events from past entries in its upcoming Khaos Reigns expansion. Mortal Kombat 1 is getting its first story-based DLC later this month, with a new campaign centered around Titan Havok’s mission to bring chaos and anarchy to the universe following the climatic multiversal battle at the end of the base game. This story will bring three new playable characters in Noob Saibot, Sektor, and Cyrax, with another trio of special guest fighters from Scream, Terminator, and Conan the Barbarian to be added later on.

Other features like Animalites have also been confirmed for Mortal Kombat 1’s new Khaos Reigns DLC, and there has been plenty of speculation about what else the new expansion will bring when it arrives on September 24. Past rumors have hinted that Mortal Kombat 1 could be adding a highly-requested Online Practice mode and another, mysterious gameplay mode referred to in the game’s metadata as “Warrior Shrine.”
