EA's skate. has set a 2025 early-access release window. The Skate series started in 2007, drawing major comparisons to Tony Hawk's series of games, but becoming popular enough in their own right. Using the "Flick-it" gameplay system and prioritizing realism, the Skate games have been able to create their own niche. Since then, games like Session: Skate Sim and Helskate have iterated on the format. However, fans of more classic skating titles have been craving a return to form, and skate. may offer that.

Skateboarding games may be set for a huge comeback altogether. Recently, Tony Hawk shared that he's working with Activision on a new game, leading many gamers to believe that Tony Hawk 's Pro Skater series will be making a return. So far, that would be the first Pro Skater title in 5 years. Based on the new Skate game's release window, it is set to be the first new game in its series in about 15 years.
