A new Starfield update rolled out to select players on September 17. Identified by version number 1.14.68, this sizable release introduces dozens of changes to Starfield's gameplay systems, quests, and UI, among other elements.
Since the beginning of 2024, Bethesda has been putting out major patches for its sci-fi RPG every six weeks on average. The latest of these releases debuted in late August 2024 in the form of Starfield update 1.13.61, which introduced the game's first land vehicle, the REV-8 rover.
Starfield's post-launch hopes are very ambitious, but Bethesda should ensure they do not impact other projects in the same way that Skyrim did.
Less than a month later, Bethesda followed up on that patch with the 1.14.68 build, which launched on Tuesday, September 17. Since this is an experimental release, it is only available to Starfield PC players who own the RPG through Valve's storefront and are willing to switch to the game's beta branch under its Steam properties.
