The Elder Scrolls 6 is still many years away and a former Bethesda developer with plenty of experience with the franchise wants fans to lower their expectations. Announced with a teaser trailer in 2018, the reveal that another Elder Scrolls game was in development took the fan base by storm, but unveiling the project so early has resulted in more frustration than excitement. Given that Starfield received its first trailer at the same time and took five years to develop, it's safe to assume that The Elder Scrolls 6 won't see the light of day soon.
Per Game Rant, Bruce Nesmith, a former game designer at Bethesda who worked on major titles like The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion, and The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim, told YouTube channel Kiwi Talkz that it will be "nearly impossible" for the sixth game to live up to the hype.
Despite this, Nesmith still has faith in the studio and is confident that The Elder Scrolls 6 is "undoubtedly going to be an amazing game." Regardless, the player base won't be able to avoid comparing it to older titles, making it harder to meet those lofty expectations.
