Dragon Age: The Veilguard differs slightly from the other games in the series in that it's got a pretty good character creator this time around. BioWare appears to have taken the criticism of Dragon Age: Inquisition's character creator to heart, and will allow players to customize almost every aspect of their character in The Veilguard.

As a result, a tremendous amount of work has gone into the game's character creator, making sure that players from all walks of life can feel represented when making their characters, and one way that BioWare managed to do this was to use a character creator from another of publisher Electronic Arts' long-running series - The Sims.

Being a series that revolves around imitating life, The Sims has developed a very complex and intricate character creator over the years. Speaking with IGN, Dragon Age: The Veilguard director Corinne Busche revealed that The Sims played a large part in making sure that everyone feels represented by The Veilguard's character creator, and was a point of reference whenever the team struggled.
