Next Star Wars: Jedi Game Will Be The Last

From Screen Rant (Written by Lee D'Amato) on | OpenCritic

The publishers of the Star Wars Jedi series have announced that the next game will be its last. During a presentation for the company's investors, as reported by Video Games Chronicle, EA president Laura Miele announced that "Respawn is working hard to bring the final chapter of this thrilling story to players," signifying that the third entry in the Star Wars Jedi series will conclude the arc. There are no plans for further sequels.

The as-yet unnamed sequel was revealed to be in development last year, when Cal Kestis actor Cameron Monaghan confirmed developer Respawn was hard at work on the third Star Wars Jedi title. This is the first major development update since then, and reveals what many fans have always believed to be true: the third game will be the final in the series.

Star Wars Jedi 3 has yet to reveal a release date, let alone any story or gameplay details, so its release is still likely some time away. Further details regarding the game and Cal Kestis' ultimate fate will likely be revealed closer to launch.
