Bioware’s New Game Delayed

Bioware’s New Game Delayed

on | OpenCritic

Reports recently revealed that Bioware has pushed their brand new IP, Anthem, to early 2019 amidst mounting pressures within the company. The reports also noted that because of these pressures many of their other projects, such as a new Dragon Age and Star Wars: The Old Republic, have had resources and staff diverted to Anthem. A day after these reports came out, Bioware studio head Casey Hudson confirmed that the new entry to the Dragon Age franchise will be a “live game”.

It is unclear what Hudson means by this, but one can guess that the game will need a internet connection and might have multiplayer, similar to a MMORPG. The delay to 2019 was later confirmed by Bioware’s publisher EA in an earnings call with their investors, who claim that this is not a delay for the game. At this time, the other parts of the report, such as the studio having problems with resources, have not been confirmed beyond the initial reports.
