Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster has surprisingly remodelled and upgraded the Beam Gun, an infamous weapon that was cut from the original game and eventually discovered deep in its files.

I might be a bit biased here considering how much love I have for Dead Rising, but the original game has one of the most interesting development histories of any of Capcom's catalogue. It changed so much from its initial reveal and has so many features, areas, and bits of content that were cut, and it seems that Deluxe Remaster cares about its past as much as fans do.

There are already some interesting nods to Dead Rising's history in Deluxe Remaster, such as the Rocket Launcher weapon that was cut from the original game, but a reliable Dead Rising historian has discovered an incredibly deep cut reference to one of the game's most mysterious omissions - the Beam Gun.
