The rumors were true: there really is a PlayStation State of Play scheduled for September 2024. Effectively an answer to the Nintendo Direct, State of Play is Sony's semi-annual event for the announcement of new games, consoles, and other tech in the PlayStation family. It's a platform for Sony to update its fans on everything new they can expect from the PlayStation platform in the coming months, and frequently hosts major new game announcements that make it a highly anticipated event.
PlayStation has finally confirmed a State of Play for September 24, 2024 (i.e., tomorrow) at 3:00 PM PDT. For reference, that's 6:00 PM on the East Coast, 11:00 PM BST, and 8:00 AM on September 25 in AEST. It'll be available to stream via both Twitch and YouTube, either in English or in Japanese. This confirms rumors from earlier this month that suggested a State of Play would arrive in late September.
According to the blog post, over 20 different games are expected to be featured, including titles for both the PS5 and the PS VR2 headset. Titles like the Horizon Zero Dawn remaster, a new Naughty Dog game, and Death Stranding 2 may make an appearance....
