Earlier today, Ghost of Yōtei was announced at PlayStation’s State of Play event. Since then, we have been given a few more details, so here is everything we know so far.
A New Region of Japan – As the title of the game suggests, we are no longer on the island of Tsushima. In this follow-up to Ghost of Tsushima, we will explore the lands around Mount Yōtei in the area known today as Hokkaido.
Three Hundred Years Later – That’s right, Ghost of Yōtei is set in the year 1603, more than 300 years after the events of Ghost of Tsushima. So, don’t expect Jin Sakai or his friends to turn up.
A New Protagonist – Obviously, being 300 years later, in Ghost of Yōtei you will play as Atsu. At the moment, we have no additional details regarding Atsu, but she does seem to be female based on what we can see in the trailer.
Sucker Punch seems to be very excited about what these changes could mean. Over on the PlayStation Blog, they had this to say…
Ghost Of Yōtei is scheduled for release on PlayStation 5 in 2025.
