Rockstar Games has confirmed that Grand Theft Auto Online players will soon be able to return to North Yankton, the iconic location that was a part of Grand Theft Auto 5's prologue. While the studio didn't go into any immense detail, the location will be included in a new Grand Theft Auto Online survival mode set to release sometime in October.
Even though Rockstar Games is gearing up for the launch of Grand Theft Auto 6 in Fall 2025, new Grand Theft Auto Online content updates are still released regularly by the studio. While fans generally praise the developer for its exciting new updates, Rockstar found itself in hot water with Grand Theft Auto Online's Steam Deck community after the live-service title was made unplayable on the device due to a new anti-cheat update. Although many believe the new system was much needed, it led to a sharp drop in the concurrent number of players, likely due to all devices with a Linux operating system no longer being able to play.
