Ubisoft needs to get Assassin's Creed Shadows right. That's one of the main reasons behind the game's recent delay to next February, as the publisher announced that it was the reception to Star Wars Outlaws (and most likely the lackluster sales) that convinced it to give Assassin's Creed Shadows a couple more months to cook.
With a crowded February launch, and a dated Ubisoft style behind it, the next few months of tweaks might not save Shadows from itself.
That's the official reason for the delay anyway, but it was fairly clear from the outset that Ubisoft wasn't painting the whole picture with that statement. We don't know exactly what goes on behind the closed doors at Ubisoft, but a new report from Insider Gaming's Tom Henderson suggests that the team developing Assassin's Creed Shadows have been dealing with a number of problems for a while.
